This policy explains what the Idle Stories / Void Games app (“the app”, “we”) does with your data. The app is made by Void Games. We designed it to need as little personal data as possible: there are no accounts — we never ask for your name, email, or a login.
Purchases (unlocking the full version of a story) are handled by Apple through the App Store. Apple processes the payment; we do not see your card or Apple ID. To deliver a paid story we send Apple’s signed purchase receipt to our content server only to verify the purchase with Apple and authorize the download of the paid files. We do not store the receipt or use it for any other purpose.
To show aggregate stats (how many players reached how many endings) and average ratings, the app stores a random anonymous identifier generated on your device, and sends to our server: which story endings you have reached, and the 1–5 ratings you give. This identifier is not linked to your name, email, Apple ID, advertising ID, or any other identity. It exists only so a rating counts once per device. It is erased if you delete the app.
Stories are downloaded as data packs from our content server (cdn.thevoidgames.com, hosted on
Cloudflare). As with any website, our hosting provider processes standard request information (such as your IP
address) to deliver the files and protect against abuse. We do not build user profiles from this.
Your saved games, progress, found endings, settings, and the anonymous identifier are stored on your device (and in the Apple Keychain). Except for the anonymous statistics and ratings above, this data is not sent anywhere.
We do not sell your data.
The app contains horror fiction and is not directed at children. Please respect the app’s age rating.
On-device data is removed when you delete the app. The anonymous statistics are not tied to your identity, so we generally cannot single you out — but if you want your anonymous records removed, contact us and we will delete the rows for the identifier you provide.
We may update this policy; the “Effective” date above shows the latest version.
